A Little History
Back in the early 7th Century the Golf Course was once the site
of an Iron Age Settlement. In 1643 at The Battle of Adwalton Moor
during the English Civil War , its said soldiers retreated over
what is now the course and down the valley into Leeds. Throughout
the 19th Century whilst been used as farm land, mining of coal and
clay also took place.
Finally in 1996 the present owners began the conversion into a
Golf Course. Opening in 3 stages, The Manor Golf Club was completed
in 1996 with the opening of the Club House.
